BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Our client is a leading third-party logistics provider offering tailored distribution, fulfillment, warehousing, and transportation solutions across North America for over 40 years.

They are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join their growing team in Reno, NV. This role is pivotal in driving business growth through strategic enterprise sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of sales expertise and operational understanding, with a passion for leadership and team development.

This position offers a unique opportunity for career advancement, with the overall goal to transition into the role of Operations Manager overseeing the Reno plant operations. We are looking for a charismatic leader who can drive innovation and results in a competitive market environment.

Job Responsibilities

    • Facilitate seamless coordination of shipments between customers and carriers, ensuring efficient logistics operations.

    • Identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities through thorough research, analysis, and proactive engagement with potential clients.

    • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, focusing on both acquiring new business and nurturing existing accounts.

    • Develop and implement strategic routing and pricing solutions using various Rate Management Systems to optimize freight movement.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their service expectations are consistently met and exceeded.

    • Collaborate closely with the Operations team to manage day-to-day freight movements and address operational challenges effectively.

    • Contribute insights on sales goals, forecasting, and successful client acquisitions during sales meetings.

    • Stay updated on industry news and market trends to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making.

    • Progress towards assuming the role of Operations Manager, overseeing and managing the operations team at the Reno plant.

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of experience in freight brokerage sales.

    • Proficiency in various modes of freight (OTR, international freight forwarding, customs, warehousing, etc.).

    • Demonstrated track record of hunting, growing, and maintaining new or existing business.

    • Understanding of logistics operations preferred.

    • Strong leadership and communication skills.

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
