Controller Controller
We are partnering with a Private Equity backed service organization looking to add a Corporate Controller to their executive team.

The Corporate Controller is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the finance department including; general ledger, financial reporting, FP&A, cash recording & reconciliation, budgeting & forecast, tax reporting, payroll recording, ERP & financial systems, dealing with outside auditors and internal controls & processes

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the day-to-day activities of general accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, account analysis, recording of payroll and benefits, fixed asset records and bank reconciliations
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to GAAP and best practices
• Prepare accurate and timely financial budgets and forecasts by working with all key stakeholders at plant and corporate management levels
• Responsible for the development and establishment of the overall financial process flow, plans, policies and procedures
• Manage and ensure that the Company is in compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Oversee month-end process and procedures which includes: accruals, journal entries, revenue and expense review and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage a team of 4 and continue to build as the company grows via organic and inorganic growth
• Oversee all outside audits and third-party financial information requests
• Assist in FP&A activities
• Maintain a constant focus on process improvement and streamlining of workflows and processes with a particular focus on best practices and the use of technology to lessen redundant work flows

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Empowered to make decisions regarding financial and accounting issues with regard to their assigned areas of responsibility
• Empowered to make personnel decisions regarding their staffing requirements, job descriptions, accounting policies and procedures, coaching and growing their reports and effectively handling any performance issues.
• Ability to produce timely, accurate and meaningful financial reports, budgets, forecasts and metrics
• Ability to manage direct reports to achieve desired results and with their personal growth
• Satisfaction of both internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to identify financial risk and provide suggestions for mitigation
• Ability to accurately budget/forecast while having strong buy-in from corporate stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree – Finance or Accounting
• CPA/Public Accounting preferred
• 5+ years prior Financial Reporting/General Accounting experience with 2+ years of managerial experience
• FP&A experience
• Demonstrated success in key areas of required responsibilities
• Experience in service based company
• Ability to manage and train employees to perform all tasks assigned to them in a timely manner and provide a roadmap for future personal growth for all team members.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and to manage a number of complex projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent Excel, financial systems and data mining skills
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Hands-on self-starter with a sense of urgency and strong time management skills
• Strong analytical, strategy and planning skills
• High financial acumen
• Drives for results/manages profitability
