Director of Strategic Initiatives & Business Operations

This position is with a private equity backed rollup in the automated industrials space. It is backed by one of the top mega-funds in the world and is in it’s early stages. The company has started to make acquisitions and is in need of some “business horse power” at the holdco level. This role will report directly to the President and CEO and help with blocking and tackling a wide range of initiatives as they continue to acquire and grow.

Geography – This is a remote role and can be located anywhere.

Position Responsibilities

Execute and Develop Strategic and Operational Initiatives

  • Support development internal process
    • Forecasting of business units and consolidated company
    • Modeling of value creation initiatives
    • Development of monthly reporting packages and tracking of progress
    • Development of agendas and preparation of quarterly board materials
    • Develop of other collateral to support internal strategic priorities
  • Manage and execute strategic projects, operational initiatives, and enablement projects as developed in conjunction with executive team members
    • Defining the project scope, milestones, budget, resource plan, and success metrics
    • Facilitating day-to-day coordination among team members and ensuring the team stays on track to completion
    • Monitoring project health through the effective use of project dashboard
    • Driving escalation and resolution of critical project related issues
    • Driving outcomes cross-functionally to build consensus and execute to meet deadlines and targeted result
  • Develop, codify, and track the value creation plan for holdco / multiple operating entities
    • Support management in idea generation and vetting.
    • Maintain and prioritize pipeline of ideas to enable the business to grow into a scaled platform through organic growth and acquisition
    • Work with functional leaders to assess and prioritize ideas and ensure clear timing and ownership is established for all projects pursued

Support M&A Initiative

  • Provide analytical and strategic support in diligencing new target companies
  • Assist CEO in onboarding new acquisitions and implement best practices

General Support

  • Serve as key liaison to Ares team for any information requests
  • Other aspects as requested

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to CEO (secondarily to Executive Chairman of the Board)

Skills & Abilities

Prior Experience

  • 3+ years experience in private equity, consulting, investment banking, strategy and/or PMO type role
  • Experience leading a team and working across organizations (internal and external) to execute a project / deliverable is required
  • Strategy experience a plus
