Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineering:
- Possess strong knowledge of electronic and software design.
- Extensive understanding of IEC 60601 and IEC 60601-2 standards.
- Experience in system-level verification and validation testing.
- Demonstrate strong technical writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Manufacturing Engineering Support:
- Collaborate with Repair Technicians to ensure effective and efficient troubleshooting and repair.
- Recommend design changes to enhance product quality, performance, cost, and reliability.
- Build and test prototypes for new product development.
- Diagnose complex electrical problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain manuals, test procedures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Create PC board layouts, electrical schematics, and complete assemblies.
- Develop hardware/software verification and validation test plans.
- Perform hardware/software verification and validation testing.
- Implement process control techniques and procedures for manufacturing.
- Create assembly procedures and work instructions for all phases of assembly, providing training and oversight for implementation.
- Manage the transfer of PC Boards to Contract Manufacturers and address any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO-13485, MDD, and CSA requirements for engineering.
- Capable of performing all aspects of systems engineering, including concept, architecture, block/functional diagrams, and system-level documentation.
- Knowledgeable in design, debugging, and support of analog/digital and real-time embedded electronics for microprocessor-based, FPGA/CPLD, and DSP hardware platforms.
- Understanding of the printed circuit board fabrication process, with proficiency in schematic diagram development tools (ORCAD/PADS), PC board layout tools (ORCAD/PADS), and simulation tools (SPICE).
- Experience with board layout concepts, especially EMC and ESD.
- Extensive experience in precision, low current measurement, and low noise analog electronics.
- Knowledge of software testing protocols.
- Understanding of Safety and EMC standards.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong communication skills with excellent technical writing abilities.
- Attention to detail and highly organized.
- Skilled in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and processor emulators/debuggers.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage concurrent projects.
- Proactive and constructive in suggesting process or product improvements.
- Capable of independent thinking while working within product architecture constraints.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
