Senior Data Engineer – Remote
Senior Associate, Data & Analytics – Remote
The CFO of a dynamic, PE backed, $300MM+ medical practice group asked HireneXus to support them and the Director of Data & Analytics in their search for a Senior Data Engineer. This team member will report to the Director of Data & Analytics and build exceptional data capability for a multisite service provider. The right person would have the skills and experience necessary build, scale and maintain best-in-in class data infrastructure and a good background in the multisite service provider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Development: Design, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality data pipelines. Manage the entire development process from data extraction to the delivery of production-ready analytical datasets, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance data processing performance and efficiency. Address bottlenecks, optimize queries, and ensure overall system stability.
- Data Governance: Implement and uphold data quality policies, access controls, and privacy standards.
- Technical Leadership: Stay updated on the latest engineering tools and best practices. Provide technical guidance to the team.
- Strategy Creation: Work with cross-functional teams to develop a data engineering strategy that aligns with business goals, including data modeling to unify data assets across various source systems used by our partner hospitals.
- Documentation: Create and maintain thorough documentation of data pipelines, architecture, and processes for knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Third-party Management: Assess and manage relationships with third-party vendors and tools, making informed decisions about external solutions.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering roles within a production environment.
- Advanced skills in Python and SQL for data engineering.
- Current knowledge of, and at least 1 year of experience with, Databricks for Lakehouse management.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, architecture, and integration best practices.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Apache Spark.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and privacy principles.
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
- Exceptional ability to learn and utilize new software development techniques and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High energy, team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Azure cloud ecosystem.
- Experience developing production-ready, real-time machine learning model pipelines.
- Proficiency in the Apache Spark Structured Streaming paradigm.
- Experience in a private equity-backed services company.
- Experience deploying machine learning models with MLFlow or similar tools.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines.
