Director, Business Development

The Director, Business Development is a self-motivated and results-driven sales team member that has new business generating responsibilities for the company. As Director, Business Development, the company is looking to you to build strong relationships with potential clients nationally while selling the complete body of services and management solutions that maximize topline revenues and GOP.


  • Identify and Qualify Leads: Conduct market research, leverage networking, cold calling, social media, industry associations, memberships, and other lead generation methods to identify potential clients.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline in Salesforce CRM by actively prospecting and following up on leads to meet sales targets.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and up-to-date sales records, reports, and forecasts within Salesforce CRM.
  • Client Meetings: Arrange appointments with prospects and, when appropriate, involve senior executives (Executive Vice President, Business Development, Vice President, Business Development, or Division Vice President) to collaboratively present product, program, and service solutions.
  • Relationship Building: Build and nurture strong relationships with clients and prospects by understanding their needs and providing customized solutions.
  • Value Proposition Communication: Clearly communicate our value proposition through various channels (email, phone, text/SMS, trade shows, in-person presentations, Teams meetings, standard and custom marketing materials).
  • Sales Process Participation: Actively engage in the company’s 360 sales process and utilize tools that drive business (Closing Skills, Negotiation Skills, Discounting Strategies, Research Tools like Google Alerts, Craft.Co, Seamless.AI, LinkedIn,, Vidyard, Loom, Social Media).
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Customer Success and Onboarding (CSO) Manager and the Operations Team, including estimators, sourcing specialists, and project managers, to ensure a smooth transition and successful account acquisition.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market developments to effectively position our services.
  • Sales Proposals: Prepare, develop, deliver, and present sales proposals and contracts to drive new customer acquisition consistently throughout the year.
  • Brand Representation: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate new business opportunities.


  • Sales Experience: Proven track record in inside or outside sales, preferably in the construction or related service industry.
  • Lead Generation Skills: Strong prospecting and lead generation capabilities to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate our value proposition.
  • Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated, proactive, positive, and results-oriented attitude.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills with an understanding of complex sales cycles.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Salesforce CRM software, HubSpot, Hootsuite, and other sales productivity tools.
  • Travel Requirement: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally (25-50%).
