Director of Real Estate & Construction

JOB SUMMARY

This position is with a recently acquired, private equity backed group in the St. Louis area. This is a site based, consumer facing services group with over 40 locations. The Director of real estate & construction is responsible for driving a variety of fast-paced strategic initiatives related to the company’s aggressive expansion strategy. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying and prioritizing sites for denovo/greenfield launches, managing efficient launch processes including facility renovations or relocations, collaborating and building consensus with internal leaders, coordinating cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate denovo/greenfield sites into the corporate infrastructure, and other special projects. The role reports directly to the CEO.

GEOGRAPHY – The ideal candidate is located in the St. Louis area and is open to some travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage multiple projects and drive fast-paced execution
• Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to company growing rapidly through denovos and acquisitions
• Establish pipeline of denovo locations that reflects priorities of the broader organization
• Responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and success of de novo launches, which includes:
• Defining the timeline, milestones, budget, resource plan, and success metrics
• Facilitating day-to-day coordination, steering committee meetings, and communication of roles and responsibilities to key functional leaders
• Monitoring project health through the effective use of project dashboards
• Driving escalation and resolution of critical project related issues that would impact launch live date
• Document and communicate key learnings, positive and negative, from denovo launches to executive management team
• Support execution of Company’s acquisition strategy, including prospecting acquisition targets and supporting diligence workstreams
• Assist with execution of various special operational projects, facility renovations, relocations, and footprint planning

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent education / work experience
• Proven ability to build and lead diverse and distributed teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple locations
• Experience developing workplans, project scopes, pricing estimates, and presentations to assist in project planning and execution
• Ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change
• Ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives with a minimal amount of supervision
• Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations
• Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and financial skills
• Effective consultative and influencing approach
• Ability to enact change quickly
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
• Willingness to travel
