Inventory Warehouse Manager
THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION IN Elk Grove, ILLINOIS
Our client is a leading international freight forwarding and cargo logistics company, providing comprehensive door-to-door services customized to meet our customers’ unique needs. They seek a dynamic and experienced Inventory Warehouse Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and minimize stockouts.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations, to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, customer service, and logistics, to effectively manage inventory and meet customer demand.
- Analyze inventory data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings, presenting recommendations to senior management.
- Implement best practices for inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and reconciliation to ensure inventory integrity and minimize discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and issues related to inventory management, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Utilize inventory management software and systems to track inventory movements, generate reports, and analyze performance metrics.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the warehouse, encouraging collaboration and innovation among team members.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, with a focus on inventory control and optimization.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and building positive relationships with customers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and warehouse best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and present ideas effectively to senior management.
