Adding a Retainer on a Position

Retainers can be recorded directly to the position it should be applied to.  To do this, find the position in the list of positions and click on the job title to open it.  At the top there is an Add Retainer/Engagement Fee button, as pointed out in the figure below.

The Add Retainer modal only has 3 editable fields: Placed By, Retainer Date and Retainer/Engagement Fee, as pointed out in the figure below.  By default, the Placed By field has the user who added the position.  Retainer Date defaults to the current date and the only blank field is the amount.  

Once you have entered the pertinent information, click Save to add the retainer.  You will then be taken to the placement screen for this retainer where you can then take further action including sending an invoice and/or splitting the retainer with different users.
